Guidance for completing the form: Please complete each section of the form.  Enter “N/A”, “None”, “Yes” “No” where appropriate.  If you are applying for a specific role, you will need a copy of the role profile to complete your application properly.

What happens next: We’ll review your application form to see if we have a suitable vacancy.  We endeavour to reply to you within 2 weeks of your application*.  Please check your junk mail if you have not received a response from us within this timeframe.

Please note, the museum is open to the public from March to November, on Friday and Saturday between 10am and 4pm. 


 This means if you are applying for the Tour Guide, Visitor Engagement Officer or Gallery and Front Desk Volunteering role, you will only be required to volunteer during these months. 


The Curatorial team still continue when the museum is closed to the public, and meet every Wednesday from 10am to 2pm.

Please provide the details of two people we can contact for a reference.  Your referees must not be friends or relatives.  They can be a teacher or lecturer if you are studying, or your manager at a current or previous place of work or somewhere you have volunteered.  They must know you well enough or have had sufficient contact with you to be able answer questions about your character and / or previous commitments.   The contact email and telephone number for your referees must be their official work email address / contact number.

Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974

Recruitment of Ex-Offenders – Many of The Bradford Police Museum volunteering opportunities will involve direct contact with children and potentially vulnerable older people.  As such, applications to volunteer are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. This means that potential volunteers are required to declare their entire criminal record, including cautions, reprimands, final warnings and criminal convictions catagorised as `spent’ under the above legislation.
